The most multifaceted Turkish city, which combines a non-rich life of ordinary people, luxury and oriental fairy tale. Asia with its welcoming warmth of family traditions and Europe with its comfort and taste. An interesting mixture of everything.
And what I do enjoy in this city is meeting a sunrise at the pier near the Galata bridge with a cup of Turkish coffee in the only one coffee shop which usually serves me even before opening. Enjoying the first sun beams which flood the coming-to-life city, highlighting the minarets of the Blue Mosque and Agia Sofia and reviving the boats of Bosphorus, listening to seagulls and ships' horns. Gazing at fishermans on a pierce and cats waiting for their portion of fish. Looking at people who just arrived to port and hurry up for their issues. Oriental fairy tale alive.
What impresses me a lot is an attitude of Turks to cats everywhere around the country. Cats would be sleeping on a chair nest to you by your table in a cafe or right on the table if you allow or in a shop window. They would always be fed and caressed. And cats are obviosly sure of being always safe.
