I’m 38 and this is the first surgery in my life. To say that I was scared before it and felt terrible after it is to say nothing. As soon as my brains recovered the capacity of clear thinking a bit, it occured to me that, basing on my life experienca, I definitely feel better when I photograph.
Relatives have brought my camera to hospital, and it has brought new sense to my reality. In the evenings when all the medical examinations were over I was blocking the door from inside with a pile of chairs and was using them as a tripod for my camera. That’s how my night “ghost” selfportraits appeared which were the most precise reflection of my emotional state.
